Lily's life is in chaos. After becoming a recently young single mother who moves back home with her mother and sister. Taking her daughter Meghan to school for the first time is more daunting for Lily as it is for Meghan, especially around all the perfect wealthy suburban parents.  

But when Lily meets a charming man called Tom at school, could things be finally on the up? However when Jasmin; Lily's younger sister is brutally murdered, Lily's life again spins out of control. Obsessed with discovering the truth behind her sister's murder, Lily begins to lose touch with reality. Is it all in her head or are the neighbourhood parent snobs hiding deadly secrets? And why does Tom suddenly seem like the most likely suspect in her sister's murder?
