This is book one in the Guarded Hearts story.
As this is part one of the story I thought it would be a short read. Nope the author made sure we had a great length of a story.
Annabelles life falls apart on her sixteenth birthday when her boyfriend is murdered and she is kidnapped by the killer Carter Thomas. She's barely surviving and each day is a struggle. Three years later her father a presidential candidate gets Ashton a newly qualified SWAT agent to guard her. Can Ashton break down those walls and help Annabelle to feel anything other than pain.
I really enjoyed this story. My heart broke for Anna. Ashton was the ideal man for her.
The only negative I can say is I felt the story dragged on a bit. I was so rooting for these to sort their issues, to sit and talk but no it just didn't happen. I'm hoping book two steps up a gear. Definitely looking forward to reading it.
