✩ ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Cynthia P. O'Neill ✩

I grew up in a small town in South Florida called Clewiston and moved to Central Florida to attend college. I married my friend, love, and soul mate and still reside in the area with our amazing son, and a feisty, four-legged little doggie boy.

In my books, I draw on my background in healthcare, business, and science, along with my husband's engineering and wireless technology knowledge.

I currently write on all levels of Romance. The Learning Series is for those who like a little more steam with their books, falling into the categories of Contemporary and verging on Erotica, with a hint of Suspense. The Remembrance Series encompasses Young Adult, with a touch of Paranormal activity and a hint of Historical romance. A new contemporary romance series is underway, called Need. It will be different than the others, because each book will focus on a new couple, while all of the characters will still have a large presence throughout the series.

I try to make my writing very personal and close to her heart. Regular life is the inspiration for my books, but I'm only limited by imagination taking ideas to new heights, opening up possibilities that would normally not exist.

On a more personal note...I love to cook and create in the kitchen and on the bbq grill. I sometimes lose myself in a song at the piano. I often sing with my son while we are driving or making dinner together. I enjoy crafts (flower arranging, making wreaths, painting pottery, needle point and drawing in pencil and charcoals). My music tastes are eclectic at best, ranging from classical piano to hard rock/heavy metal. It all depends on the song, group, and if it has a good beat or is a soulful ballad.

Run To You by Kandice Michelle Young

Blurb:

I moved to New York for a fresh start.  I did not move here to fall for a man like Sebastian.

Sebastian Black came into my life like a storm in the peak of the night…dark, raging, all-consuming, and guaranteed to leave destruction in his wake. From the moment our eyes met, he had a hold on me. I wanted, craved, and needed him like nothing I had ever desired before.

The problem was he needed total submission. From the moment he handed me the contract, I knew what he was proposing would destroy me. What I had not planned was his ability to make me crave destruction. I would lose myself in him. Sebastian knew how to take me over the edge, and before I even knew it, I wanted to go freefalling.

It was evident that my past had the ability to destroy us. What I had not calculated was the power of his to do the same. My dark, brooding, impeccably sexual, alpha-male had his own crosses to bear. I was not sure I was strong enough to handle them, or the woman who helped chain him there.

Sebastian called me his princess, but he was far from my white knight. He was my drug. One hit and I was addicted to him.

I ran from him to save my life. I kept running to regain my sanity. Kyle would help me with that. His warmth and familiarity were just what I needed to get back on track. Beautiful in his own right, Kyle was everything I once knew to be good about the world. Kyle was perfect for me, he always had been.

Except he wasn't Sebastian, he could never be. The horrors of my past pulled me away from him. The nightmares of my present would bring us back together. Confused though I was, I knew Sebastian was the only choice. The damage done was great, our love greater. Surviving each other would take everything we had, but it was the only option.

Every mistake we had made would collapse on top of us, burying us alive in a mountain of anger and guilt. Neither of us could have prepared for what was coming. The only way out was through. The question became, would we be strong enough to make it through together or would our secrets tear us apart once more?

Author Bio

Kandice is…

…a serial lover of all things pink, self-proclaimed chocoholic, home-schooling mother, and wannabe yogi.

Her debut erotica novel, Run to You, the first in the series Run, is coming soon.

Kandi’s love of storytelling can be traced back to her fourth grade year, when a history lesson on Native Americans became too unimaginative for her liking.  She took it upon herself to liven things up by creating a story that was based on half-truths about a self-named Indian Princess. Kandice is in fact of Native American heritage (her great-grandmother was a full-blooded Cherokee) and in her own mind a princess, so you can see where her inspiration came from.  Her story was a huge hit with friends, and an author was born.

Kandice was born and raised in rural Arkansas, where she currently lives with her husband and three children. Though, if you ask her she’ll confirm that her soul is lost somewhere on the west coast waiting for the day that her body can rejoin it.

Fervent - my review

In two days I've sat and read these three books ending with Fervent. I couldn't resist re-reading book one as this is a fantastic series.

Ok so im not gonna tell you anything about the storyline just in case you haven't read any of these books. Let me just say these are brilliant dark reads. There are so many twists you won't know what way to look.

I read this book in two hours. Yes I inhaled every word of it.
Cliffhangers. Yes I hate them. I thought I was on a roll as each book ended in a cliffhanger I jumped right into the next book, not realising that there is a book four. Face palm!! I need Vagrant now... Pretty please.

Brilliant series. So looks my forward to book four.

Stepdaddy Dom - my review

This is a short naughty read with a taboo subject.
When Rileys mum goes away for a weekend her Stepdaddy decides she needs to learn how to behave. As this is a naughty read you can imagine what he has in store for her.

If you like a quick smutty read just before you go to bed then I recommend this quickie.

Jettie Woodruff double cover reveal

And in time…

Being single doesn’t mean you have to be lonely. Alexis McKinley was a firm believer in that. She of all people knew that one didn’t need a man. Being alone didn’t mean she was available, or that she was weak. It meant that she was strong enough to go it alone. Riding solo was better than a false relationship where she had to be defined by someone else. Not Alexis. She was too resilient and proud for that. Love doesn’t always show up looking like a fairytale. Sometimes you don’t even have to be looking for it, sometimes it finds you. That’s exactly how it happened. Alexis wasn’t searching, she didn’t want it, and she failed…miserably. New in town, single, and Handsome Cory Baker caused her to neglect what had been imprinted for years, but how? Confined by carefully constructed walls kept her heart safe. Not only was she keeping the sadness out, but the joy as well.
And in time…

This too shall pass.
After reading the true love between Alexis and Cory in
And in time…
You got the happily ever after of two people deeply in love, or did you? Maybe it was simply a once upon a time?
Can two people in love really have a happy ending? Can they survive the obstacles and defy the odds?
Alexis and Cory have built a life together, but do they have a future?
Alexis was raised to believe God wouldn't give her more than she could handle. The impact of that tested her to her limits and she couldn't tell if it was killing her or making her stronger.
Was it time to give herself permission to walk away?
There were no mistakes only lessons. Alexis learned them well, and it was time to rebuild the carefully constructed wall.

This too shall pass.

Unsurprisingly Complicated - new release

Claudia Burgoa

Unsurprisingly Complicated (Unexpected #2)

4/30/2015

Blurb:

AJ

The lies between my parents and I came to light and now I’m working on a new life for myself. Along the way, I have my trusty superhero, Mason, to lean on when I have a hard time standing or when my crazy ex-boyfriend continues to feel he has a claim on me.

Porter has trouble understanding that there hasn’t been an ‘us’ for more than three years plus all the issues he had brought upon himself. My father was right, drugs do kill. My other concern is the growing feelings I am having regarding Mason. There’s something between us I want to explore but I keep getting mixed signals. Here, I thought that after telling my parents about my lies and having their full support, things wouldn’t be as complicated as they are.

Mason

My parents divorced before I even made my entrance into this world. My father has been obsessed with that love for years while my mother searches for love in all the wrong places. I don’t want a place to call home or a girl I can claim as mine. Except… Ainsley Janine –better known as ‘Nine’—has some special power that makes me question my preferences. The more I try to stay away from her, the more she pulls me closer.

Exploring the possibilities of having something steady in my life isn’t a problem; it’s the long term that worries me. In addition to that, the scumbag she dated years ago keeps popping up everywhere we go. If I could use my license to kill, maybe I can stop worrying about one thing and concentrate on what to do with the green eyed girl who keeps me awake most nights.

Born on the mystical day of October 30th in the not so mystical lands of Mexico City, Claudia grew up with a childhood that resembled a caffeine-injected  soap opera. Seventeen years ago she ventured to the lands of her techie husband—a.k.a. the U.S.—with their offspring to start a new adventure.

She now lives in Colorado working as a CFO for a small IT company, managing her household filled with three confused dogs, said nerd husband, two daughters wrought with fandoms and a son who thinks he’s the boss of the house. To survive she works continually to find purpose for the voices flitting through her head, plus she consumes high quantities of chocolate to keep the last threads of sanity intact.

Excerpts:

“Are you sure this is okay with you?

“Yes, Mason Bradley.” This is the tenth time he has asked me the question.

“Did you use sex to distract me?”

I clamp my lips together and refuse to answer the question. I wasn’t going to, but he gave me the perfect idea when I was desperate to make a point that his mother had to stay with me.

Of course, now I’m chewing my lip because Mrs. Reality knocks me down with full force. My boyfriend’s mother is staying with me. Not just any woman—his mother. She’s going to judge me, hate me, and, what else do mothers do?

“Does she know about me?”

“No.” He takes his eyes off the road for a second.

My hands slam against my face.

“Of course she knows about you. She’s known about you since you were little, Nine.”

“I don’t mean that way.” I toss my head against the seat and roll my eyes.

“Girlfriend. I mean, I am your girl right?”

“Oh, that detail. You are?”

I groan like a wounded bear.

“It’s a joke. Damn, you get feisty when you’re nervous. Take it easy. Yes, she knows and she’s aware that you and I are dating. You hold the girlfriend title, the girl who tamed me, my other half, the one who holds the key to my cell and that’s why I stick around.”

I suck on my lip as I gift him with my deep, hard glare of ‘die’. “You’re not funny.”

“Oh, I am.” He laughs as I burn with panic, fear, and unamused anger.

My entire body is shaking at the prospect of having the woman in my house for however long she’s staying here.

“How long is she staying?” I’m trying to figure out my schedule for the next few days.

“She didn’t say.” A response that won’t help me with the jitters eating the insides of my stomach or with planning.

Ugh, I put myself into this situation. Great.

“Stop,” he orders. “I’m the only one allowed to nibble those lips. They’re mine.”

He takes my hand and kisses the inside of my wrist. Then his finger caresses my skin soothing the knotted nerves.

“She’s going to like you.”

Not love me? My world is in danger of crumbling as I learn that winning over his mom may be a bigger challenge that I originally thought.

“Oh, God!” I finally let the excruciating panic out.

“What is she going to think about me?” The question comes out of my subconscious. “That we’re going too fast. I mean, you’re practically living in my house, which I love. Each day a new pair of jeans, a t-shirt,and some other item finds a spot in my closet. Scott, your sports car, lives next to Eleanor. Tucker stays at my parents’.”

“Huh, you just noticed?” He kisses my hand again. “To clarify, I’m not living with you. There are a few items I have around to make things simpler when I stay overnight. That brings me to another issue. Stop naming my stuff. It’s a car, not Scott; a truck, not Tucker.” He pats the dashboard.

“Ready?” he taps my nose with his free hand. “Stamp on that pretty smile of yours. That, ‘I’m about to die’ look isn’t flattering. Here they are.”

Mason parks the car in front of a couple. Mr. and Mrs. Daugherty wait for us outside the terminal with their luggage. Mason’s stepfather is only a few inches taller than his wife, bald but with handsome features.

“Wait here,” Mason orders.

Mason’s mom is an inch or two taller than me, maybe five-seven. Porcelain skin with dark almond-shaped eyes and fine, soft features. Dark hair and a smooth complexion, just like I remember her from childhood.

Due to airport restrictions, within seconds Mason shoves their luggage in the trunk and helps his mom into the car as his stepfather did not offer.

“Mother, meet Ainsley Colthurst-Decker, better known as Nine or the girl I casually date.” He used the dorkyjokester voice. I narrowed my eyes at him. “My lovely girlfriend. I’m not sure if you remember her. Nine, Mom.”

About the Unexpected Series:

Unlike Any Other (Unexpected #1)

Blurb: AJ

The name AJ Colthurst may not have any meaning to the public eye, but it should, as I’m the daughter of two famous celebrities. Like any superstar, they crave privacy; so much of it, they built a house in the middle of nowhere for us children. As we grew older, we discovered the lies they built as a fort to protect us from the media, ended up causing emotional damage along the way.
I carry a portion of the guilt on my shoulders; the other part I discovered is the separation of my parents. Their unorthodox ways may have driven me bonkers, but knowing they are no longer together is unacceptable.
That’s why I decided to rattle their cage by reminding at least one of my parents of the past and the reason they belong together. They need to remember why their love is so perfect and why they have to fight to keep it alive. Even if it means I have to dredge up some of my own painful memories along the way.

Gabe

Back in the early eighties, I set myself to succeed in the financial world. The first step had been moving to New York City to become a stockbroker, but things didn’t work out the way I had hoped. Instead, I ended up making movies and by the end of the decade, Gabe Colt had become a famous name. The downside to my career of choice: the paparazzi. In order to protect my family and our privacy, I maintained my family away from the circus. It had been for their own good; a decision we had made before we started our family.
However, those past decisions ended up chasing my entire family away and now I’m trying to put the pieces back together along with my little girl.

Excerpt

That was one of the pivotal moments of my career and my personal life. I met my best friend, the love of my life, and learned to love acting.

“I can’t be sharing rooms with her,” a soft female voice spoke after Tara handed out the room keys.

Instead of checking who I’d be rooming with, I leaned forward and spotted a petite blonde pointing toward a tall brunette whose hair was bigger than the flower pot behind her.

“Abigail,” Tara addressed her. “We have a contract. You and Lara will share, and if you break the contract, you’ll have to pay for any production delays.”

Abigail Ritz and Lara Stevens had worked together in several teenage movies. Everyone who followed the basic news channels were aware of their feud. They fought for the same guy years ago, Lara’s fiancé at that moment. He had been Abigail’s boyfriend first. Some entrepreneur who liked to have beautiful celebrities on his arm.

Abigail Ritz was more famous in the early eighties, but just as the women fought for the same guy, they also fought for roles. If they worked in the same movie, the fights became public domain. Lara was tall with dark, long hair and deep, blue eyes while Abigail was petite and curvy with green eyes and blonde hair.

After Tara had wrapped up the meeting, I went to speak with Abigail. “Everything okay?” I extended my hand. “Gabe Colt.”

“Yes, of course.” She smoothed her hair before extending her hand. “Nice to meet you, Gabe.”

For artistic purposes, I had shortened my name from Gabriel James Colthurst to just Gabe Colt. A name I wanted to change legally but haven’t had the time.

From the corner of my eye I spotted someone approaching us, then I heard his voice.

“Colt,” he called out. I turned around and found a man about an inch shorter than me, long, brown hair that matched Lara’s length and volume, and a bandana tied around his forehead. He wore leather pants, leather jacket, and a pair of industrial boots with chains around them—weird. “Christian Ainsley Decker, your new roommate.”

Tara had to be kidding me, the Rock God was Christian Decker and I was rooming with him. The idea of suggesting to switch became appealing. I could get to know little Abby while he could exchange hair product secrets with Lara.

“It’s my lucky day,” Decker muttered. “I’m rooming with Mr. Hot Shot, would you mind switching rooms, darling?” He wiggled his eyebrows at Abby. “You and I can get to know one another as I make you reach places no other man has taken you before.”

Abby giggled and tried to compose her posture.

“I’ll see the two of you around.” Abigail scurried away.

In the end, it didn’t matter who I roomed with; I had a schedule to meet and my daily routine to follow. The most damage he could do was play his music too loud. My college roommate had cranked his heavy metal all the way up when he wanted to study. The only difference between back then and now would be that I could complain to the creator instead of the fan.

Decker’s band, Dreadful Souls, emulated the genre of heavy metal of which I wasn’t a fan. His band played that shit as he screamed nonsense lyrics. Or they played cheesy ballads that had women dropping their panties and throwing them at him during their concerts. My roommate made me go with him to one of their concerts since I owed him one.

We headed to the elevator rolling our luggage behind us when he spoke.

“I think it’s fifty-fifty.”

His intent to answer something I hadn’t asked didn’t make sense and I chose to ignore him because the less we talked, the less I had to deal with his personality. Not that I knew anything about this long haired freak.
