A bad man once broke me, leaving me trapped in a cage built out of my own shame. Shackled to the bars of the past.

Afraid. Lonely. Unable to move on.

Then, I met him.

Beautiful, intense, and stuck in a cage of his own. He makes me want to live again. I want to save him. I want him to save me.

But good guys don’t like ruined girls. And even if he did, would I have the courage to break free, and learn to fly again?

For him?

A sad woman once broke me, leaving a crater in my chest I’ll never fill again.

Crippled by past mistakes and present fears.

Then, I met her.

Enchanting, stunning, and in pain. I want to love her. I want her to love me.

But she doesn’t deserve to fall into the abyss of my broken soul. I should stay away and yet, I can’t let her go. Am I strong enough to become a better man?

A debut novel. Really? Wow after reading this I’m hoping the author plans to write loads more as this was a brilliant read. As soon as I started reading I was hooked. This storyline is addictive.

Arabel and Lorenzo brought so many emotions out of me. Their story is intense and full of feelings.

This is a beautiful well written story that will stay with me for a long time. There are triggers so may not be for everyone.

Can’t wait to read more from this author.

Alessandra Vitale is an author that hates to talk about herself in third person so…

Hey! I’m Alessandra. I love to write and can’t imagine life without pouring my heart and soul onto a page, physical or digital. I graduated with a degree in psychology that I didn’t use for long but that now helps me write emotional, healing stories. A few years ago, I met my parents’ neighbor, and within days I knew he was the one. We now live by The Blue Ridge Parkway with our little girl Ella, our dog Rex, and two adorable (albeit loud) Australian budgies. Oh, and about a dozen crazy chickens. I love aerial dance, music, and baking. I’m obsessed with the British band Muse, which I force my family to listen to often (but it’s okay because I bake for them all the time). When I'm not writing, I'm enjoying the beauty of our forty-acre wood, reading, talking with my friends about books, and hanging out with my husband and little human.

The Twins - blog tour

The Twins

If you liked Blood Orange you will love this!

From the moment they are born, twins Susan and Sarah are inseparable. Through good and bad, the girls will always be together…forever.

Until they meet Jonny.

Older, charming and handsome, Jonny offers the girls the much-needed love and attention they crave. But he can only choose one and for the first time in their lives the girls find themselves split apart – the invisible thread that binds them severed.

Set-free from her twin, Sarah builds a new life for herself, marries, has a daughter. But Susan’s life spirals further and further out of control.

And now Susan is back. And she’s determined to reclaim everything she feels Sarah has taken from her.

Her home, her husband…her life?

The Twins is a well written story that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Sarah and Susan are identical twins- always be together. Well so they thought until they met Jonny. He must choose between them. He has a daughter with the one he chooses. When the other twin turns up many years later everything will change again.

This is a cleverly written story.

Although I was sometimes confused with the different timelines and similar names I was glued to this story.

I can’t wait to read more from this author.

Torment - blog blitz

Who can you really trust?

Beth couldn’t be happier. She is eight weeks pregnant and married to the man of her dreams. But after returning home from a celebratory meal, she finds a wreath from her sister’s grave hanging above the bed and a kitchen knife embedded in her pillow. There are no signs of a forced entry. Nothing is stolen. And no one other than the cleaner has a key to the house.

Then a campaign of terror begins. Beth becomes increasingly paranoid as it becomes clear that someone close to the family is behind these disturbing events.

But who would want Beth dead?

Does the past hold the clue?

And can Beth find the answer before it’s too late?

Torment is a story of misplaced loyalty, revenge and sacrifice.

This is another fantastic read by this author. I was literally gripped from start to finish.

Beth is pregnant and happily married. When she returns home after a meal her life is about to change and not in a good way.

A campaign of terror begins on Beth as she doesn’t know who to trust or believe.

Who is out to get her and why?

A brilliant read with some great twists and turns. Although I predicted some there was other twists that had me mentally high fiving the author

This is book three in the DI Barton series. Although this can be read as a stand-alone this is a great series so I highly recommend you go read the previous books and read more of Barton.

I really like Barton and his team. This story is fast paced as the team are on the search for the killer.

I can’t praise this author highly enough. I picked my kindle up to read a chapter or two and next thing I know I’ve finished reading it in the early hours of the morning. This author has a way with words that has me gripped from start to finish. Really hoping this isn’t the end of Barton :).

A Mother Like You - blog tour

A Mother Like You

All mothers have secrets...some are unforgivable

Kate Marshall lives an enviable life. Married to handsome, charming, James, owner of a successful company, she seems to have it all. But falling pregnant at 45 was never part of the plan. Especially as Kate’s hiding a devastating secret – one that she’s been running from for twenty years.

So when ex-boyfriend Paul comes back into her life, threatening to expose the truth about what Kate did, the clock is ticking. Can she keep her secrets and finally be the mother she always dreamed of – or will her past lies destroy her perfect life?

An unputdownable, complex and twisty psychological thriller about mothers and daughters – fans of Shalini Boland, Liane Moriarty and Jane Shemilt will love this gripping read.

This is another excellent read from this author.

Kate is happily married to James. When she finds out she is pregnant at forty five years old it’s not what she wants. She also has a secret. When her ex turns up blackmailing her she is terrified her secret will be revealed.

This is a well written story that I read in one afternoon... I just had to keep reading to see what was gonna happen next.

I’m looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Fifteen Coffins - new release

Book Description:

From the bestselling author of the DI Bliss series comes an enthralling mystery thriller.

The truth can set you free – or bury you.

When FBI Agent Sydney Merlot returns to her home town in northern California to wind down her late father’s PI business, she soon finds herself on the wrong side of the aftermath of a high school shooting.

Sydney’s childhood friend – who is now county sheriff – plus the local PD, the mayor’s office, and most of the town’s inhabitants, are convinced the horror ended when the gunman was killed. Now they just want to be left alone to mourn. But Sydney has other ideas – and she is not alone.

While having to work through her own personal grief, Sydney is openly intimidated and receives anonymous threats. After discovering she is under surveillance, she begins to fear for her life. During her investigation she gains several allies, but as the days pass, Sydney doesn’t know who to trust, and which new friends might actually turn out to be foes...

I absolutely love this authors stories especially featuring DI Bliss. I will admit I was worried that this wouldn’t meet my expectations the way Bliss does. However Mr. Forder you have exceeded my expectations and more.

I’m really hoping there will be plenty more of Sydney Merlot. She is a brilliant and very likeable character.

The author does what he does best by grabbing my attention and not letting go throughout the story. The twists and turns were brilliant and totally unexpected.

Another fantastic storyline from this author. I’m so looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Shallow River - new release

Shallow River, a Dark Thriller Standalone Romance, by H.D. Carlton is now LIVE!

Title: Shallow River

Author: H.D. Carlton

Release Date: November 1st

Genre:  Dark Romance. Thriller

 Cover Designer - Chris Schade

Shallow Hill is where souls suffer slow and miserable deaths.

When River McAllister escaped from Shallow Hill, she left her innocence behind--and some of her sanity, too. Now she's rebuilding her life with her dream man and life couldn't be better.

Ryan Fitzgerald is everything you'd want in a man. Attractive, rich, an aspiring lawyer, and would do anything to keep River. But that's not the only thing that attracts her. It's his attentiveness, his possessiveness... maybe not so much his temper.

When her relationship takes a dark turn, Ryan's estranged brother, Mako, is the only one who sees it. He knows exactly what Ryan is capable of, and it's not the first time he had to be a knight in shining armor.

River came from Shallow Hill, though. She's never needed saving before. What Mako doesn't see is that River is perfectly capable of taking care of herself.

The only one who should be scared is Ryan.

Oh my dayz. I have no words. How can I possibly review a book that literally consumed me from start to finish. When I wasn’t reading this (yes life happens and I had to put my kindle down) I was thinking about the book. I even synced it to my kindle app on phone and read pages when I could.

What genre is this?? I’m not sure. Is mess with your head a genre? I highly recommend you jump into this blind.

It’s so so good and will definitely be a top favourite of mine this year (and I’ve read plenty). What’s the story about? I’m not gonna rehash the story. Just jump in and get lost in these lives, these words.

I really hope this author writes more like this.

Oh I will say River is an amazing character. I want to be her friend :)

The Boy Between - blog tour

Book Description:

Bestselling novelist Amanda Prowse knew how to resolve a fictional family crisis. But then her son came to her with a real one…

Josiah was nineteen with the world at his feet when things changed. Without warning, the new university student’s mental health deteriorated to the point that he planned his own death. His mother, bestselling author Amanda Prowse, found herself grappling for ways to help him, with no clear sense of where that could be found. This is the book they wish had been there for them during those dark times.

Josiah’s situation is not unusual: the statistics on student mental health are terrifying. And he was not the only one suffering; his family was also hijacked by his illness, watching him struggle and fearing the day he might succeed in taking his life.

In this book, Josiah and Amanda hope to give a voice to those who suffer, and to show them that help can be found. It is Josiah’s raw, at times bleak, sometimes humorous, but always honest account of what it is like to live with depression. It is Amanda’s heart-rending account of her pain at watching him suffer, speaking from the heart about a mother’s love for her child.

For anyone with depression and anyone who loves someone with depression, Amanda and Josiah have a clear message—you are not alone, and there is hope.

This is a truly amazing read from the fantastic author Amanda Prowse and her son Josh. It’s so hard to review this as it’s such a heart breaking read but also one of hope.

I have struggled with depression for over twenty five years. For the last two years my youngest son has struggled and has had meltdowns. The fear in me is pure raw when I’m watching him during these times. Due to my personal experiences this was a hard book for me to read although I’m glad I did as maybe in the back of my mind I won’t feel as alone.

I rarely read non fiction but I’m so glad I read this. Will need to get it in paperback in the hope other family members pick it up and I can seek some solace when needed.

Amanda Prowse is an International Bestselling author whose twenty five novels and seven novellas have been published in dozens of languages around the world. Published by Lake Union, Amanda is the most prolific writer of bestselling contemporary fiction in the UK today; her titles also consistently score the highest online review approval ratings across several genres.  Her books, including the chart topping No.1 titles 'What Have I Done?', 'Perfect Daughter', 'My Husband's Wife', 'The Girl in the Corner' and ‘The Things I Know’ have sold millions of copies across the globe.

A popular TV and radio personality, Amanda is a regular panellist on Channel 5's 'The Jeremy Vine Show' and numerous daytime ITV programmes. She also makes countless guest appearances on BBC national independent Radio stations including LBC and Talk FM, where she is well known for her insightful observations and her infectious humour. Described by the Daily Mail as ‘The queen of family drama’ Amanda’s novel, 'A Mother's Story' won the coveted Sainsbury's eBook of the year Award while 'Perfect Daughter' was selected as a World Book Night title in 2016.

Amanda's ambition is to create stories that keep people from turning the bedside lamp off at night, great characters that ensure you take every step with them and tales that fill your head so you can't possibly read another book until the memory fades...

Praise for Amanda Prowse:

'A powerful and emotional work of fiction' - Piers Morgan

'Deeply moving and emotional, Amanda Prowse handles her explosive subjects with delicate skill' - Daily Mail

'Uplifting and positive, but you will still need a box of tissues' - Hello!

'A gut-wrenching and absolutely brilliant read' - The Irish Sun

'You'll fall in love with this...' - Cosmopolitan

'Deeply moving and eye opening. Powerful and emotional drama that packs a real punch.' - Heat

'Magical' - Now magazine

A keen environmentalist and animal lover, Josiah (Josh) Hartley lives in a remote farmhouse in the West Country with his two idle and arrogant French Bulldogs, Dottie and Beau. Happiest following the music scene in Bristol, at a festival or watching rugby with his mates, Josh enjoys the outdoor life and often heads to the sea to surf and sit on the beach watching the sun go down.

After a stint at the University of Southampton, another at the University of Bristol and one planned suicide, Josh decided to write about his descent into mental illness and the depression that held him in its grip for the past few years. The Boy Between carries the overriding message that things can and often do get better. It is a book of reflection, raw, honest and full of hope - the proof being that Josh is still here and excited about what comes next. He’s ready to catch any opportunity that life throws his way; quite a thing for someone who only a few years ago was living in a world gone grey, ready to disappear from the face of the earth…
