Wow. What a story. As I sit here trying to write this review I know my words are not going to give this book the justice it deserves.

Molly McCarthy. What an amazing character. My heart broke for so many times.

Set in Ireland in the 1940s I found this to be an interesting yet heart breaking story. Life wasn’t easy back then but it was so much worse for Molly with her circumstances. Her strength shines throughout the story.

I found this to be a heavy kinda read. I can normally whiz through a book but this is not one of those kinda reads. I felt as if I was feeling this book rather than reading it.

I’m so looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.
