Opening Paragraph: Not long past midnight on the deserted Irish beach, a ghost drifted through Seraphina. Mesmerized, she turned to gaze after him—an ancient warrior, judging from his archaic clothes and the weapons hanging from his belt. When he paid her no mind, she shivered, and a nervous snicker escaped her lips. Although puny, the sound punctured the night, and she turned toward the sea, rubbing the goose bumps on her arms. There was no going back now.
