Seizing Control - my review

This is a brilliant well written debut novel. I sat and read it in one afternoon as I couldn't put it down until I'd finished. 

Madelaine is the only daughter of the President of the Black Shamrocks MC. She's got four protective brothers. Mik is the hot alpha male that will do anything to protect the people close to him. 

Lainey and Mic have grown up together. They are now madly in love and engaged. When Laineys past comes back to haunt her will their relationship be strong enough to survive??

If your like me and you love MC reads and dark stories then you will love this book. It's dark, gritty and raw. A brilliant dark romance. 

I felt as if I was on a roller coaster while reading this. Looking forward to reading more from this author. Loved it.

Aurora James - my review

This was a total unexpected but wonderful surprise for me. 

Alyssa is a single mum who has hit rock bottom. To survive and provide for her daughter Sophie she ends up getting a job at a strip club as Aurora James. 

Xavier is the owner of the club. He's ruthless and comes across as heartless until he's with Aurora. He wants her to himself but knows he can't touch her. I loved how the author portrayed him as a hot, possessive alpha male. 

I loved this unique storyline. The sex scenes were hot and steamy. Great secondary characters added to the story. 

With plenty of twists and turns I found this to be an addictive read. Be warned there's a cliffhanger :(

Dirty Bad Strangers - my review

This is the third book in the Dirty Bad series. I do believe Jade saved the best til last. Even though I loved the previous books this was fantastic. 

Gemma is a normal curvy girl who works as a sex line chat operator. James is a regular caller to her line. At high relationships are forbidden they start to get feelings for each other. 

Can James make her secret fantasies a reality??

This book is dirtier, badder and hotter than the previous two. Be warned Jades books are raw and dirty. 

This series will definitely be staying on my kindle for a re read.

This can’t be happening!

That man just hit Riza! He could have killed her.

It’s all some horrible nightmare. We are not in the back of a van being taken to God-only-knows-where.

My stomach and ribs ache something fierce from where Warren kicked me. I tear my eyes away from Riza, who is still unconscious. I’m so worried about her. I pull Kelly closer to me, trying to comfort both of us.

The van slows down. When it comes to a full stop, it causes all my muscles to tense and quiver. I send up a silent prayer. Please, don’t let them hurt us!

The sound of metal turning on metal makes me press my back hard into the wall behind me. I pull Kelly tighter against my chest. The van door swings open. Garrett looks very unhappy as he glares into the back of the van.

“Put her with the others!” Warren commands and then he shoves a plump girl into Garrett’s arms.

“Let’s get back to the house. We need to get started,” Garrett says as he picks the new girl up and forces her into the back. She scrambles over Riza to get to the other corner. She looks terrified. I’m sure we all look the same, scared out of our minds.

“Can’t wait to break them in,” Warren says with a dark smirk.

Break us in? What the hell is he talking about?

My eyes meet Kelly’s terrified ones, and fresh tears spill over my cheeks. The realization of what happened and what is happening hits hard. Oh my God! We’re being kidnapped!

“Close your eyes,” Garrett whispers.

My eyes dart to his and I can’t believe they fooled us like that. He doesn’t look like a killer. I was actually starting to like him before they took us. They all look so decent. I would never have suspected any of them being able to hurt a fly, no less any of us.

“Close your eyes,” he whispers again. “There’s nothing you can do. It will be easier if you try to get some rest while you can.”

Excerpt

 

The glass shatters around my feet and a few pieces actually cut my skin.

“Shit. Shit. Shit!” I yell.

“Don’t move; you’ll cut yourself even more.”

In a flash, I’m lifted from the floor and placed onto the counter. Dakota raised me like it was nothing, and is now looking around for the broom and dustpan.

“Pantry,” I say and point to the door.

“I’m sorry for startling you; I didn’t mean to scare you. Are you always this jumpy?” he asks as he stops what he’s doing to glance at me.

“Yes, when I have a strange man in my kitchen that I don’t know is behind me, I tend to be a little jumpy,” I say with a hint of sarcasm.

“I’m not a stranger, you know. Just a guy that moved in next door and is trying to get to know the neighbor.”

“Are you done yet? I’ve got work to do.”

“Almost, but you need to let me clean the cuts on your foot first, then you can go back to work.”

“I’ll clean them. I don’t need anyone to take care of me. Got it?”

“Oh, I’m sure you can take care of yourself, but I think you should let me take care of you. You know, it’s not a bad thing to let people in.”

God, that smirk he always gives me … it’s about to drive me nuts. Jumping down from the counter, I decide to do this myself. This is a conversation that needs to be avoided. In the bathroom, I lock the door behind me and locate the peroxide and a bandage. I hike my foot up on the side of the tub and dab the cotton ball onto the small cut. My breath hitches from the sting. Satisfied that they’re clean enough, everything goes back up and I head back out.

This is my first read by this author and it certainly won't be the last as I loved it. 

It's been a nightmare of a year for Izzy as she comes to terms with that dreadful day that her father died and her fiancé left her. She's determined to give men a wide berth. Then Dakota enters her life and moves in next door.   

Can Dakota break down the walls that Izzy built to protect herself?

Will Dakotas secret blow them apart?

This author knows how to balance heartbreak with some great laugh out loud moments. Let's not forget the great secondary characters. Loved it.
